Urbex photogrammetry

This is a side project I'm pursuing that I thought yall may find interesting. Iv been learning photogrammetry, a method of generating 3D models from still images, for awhile and have finally developed a workflow that produces room scale renders with only about 30 minutes of data collection. In the past Iv mostly applied this to places Iv lived but on one of my recent urbex trips I tried my luck at a room with some really cool graffiti and got a pretty solid result

Here's a screenshot of the render, if there's enough interest I can post a video of the whole thing. If anyone else is doing stuff like this I'd love to talk a bit about how I can improve my work. Hope yall enjoy

Edit to tryn fix embed. If it isn't fixed I'll deal with it after work so bear with me

I have tried to talk my company into letting me take our Faro 3D laser scanner exploring.

So far no luck. It appears it is worth more than I am.

I'm still waiting for a company to come out with one of those that doesn't cost the same as a sports-car, some 3d maps of the drains/sewers/CSO under Seattle would be epic.

Woah, You could do some seriously cool things with some of this equipment. I'd love to make a database of historical places as 3D renders

I didn't use any expensive LIDAR or scanning equipment to gather the data for this render. This was produced with about 400 still images of the room, which were processed using meshroom

I have a friend who uses a Faro scanner on a regular basis for work, and one time he "borrowed" it for the weekend so we could make a 3D scan of an old victorian pumping station. The result was awesome and is still useful to us to this day. I'M so glad we had that scan done since the station has been dismantled last year.

Can you post the video of how it was done?

Would love to see how it is done. 400 images seems a lot but it could be worth it for some historical places I have in mind.

Can you post a screenshot or file output to see if it brings our extreme or minute details? Curious about this.
