This radar station was part of a nato Control and Reporting Center, it was abandoned in 2021 because it moved to another site. A little history about the crc site: the site opened with just a couple of tents and a mobile radar station, in 1955 the 3-story bunker was taken into use. In 1972 the radar shown in the photos was taken into use. In 1993 the bunker underwent a big remodeling, this is when they removed all the asbestos and made room for more services. The radar itself stopped spinning in 2015 and eventually on 14 april 2021 it closed down after forty years of service.

It was loads of fun exploring and unfortunately because it's a military location they cleaned it out, the good part of that is that there was no security to our surprise. Definitely going back there and hoping the bunker will be open then.
