Year in review twist.

So... I have been a member of uer for 15 years. I haven't done a y.i.r. for a few years, let alone post. I have not stopped exploring. I stopped editing and posting.

So, as a twist, for those of us who have been here for a fucking decade, let's see your "best of 10 years on uer"

Tear it up please and show these kids why and how and what it's all about.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I guess I'm maybe close enough to being here a decade (eight years this year) to put something into the mix. Been exploring now since 2009 but here's some highlights from the last ten years. Some iconic spots, some personal favourites, and some that stayed on the down low.

There's so many kids in this nowadays thanks to Youtube who think the be all and end all of exploring is abandoned houses - because they are low-hanging fruit, at least in the UK - that they have no concept of some of the amazing stuff which is actually out there.

I must give my eternal thanks to all the people I've explored with in the States who took me under their wings - in particular EsseXplorer - I've seen some amazing stuff thanks to you guys.

I never meant for it to be this long but when you've explored around 900 locations I'm not surprised!

Mookster, I also love car graveyards. Would you be willing to show more of your past shots of those?

Thanks to both of you!

An excellent choice of thread bump, tbh I'm surprised nobody else really contributed.

It's my 10th UER birthday next year, as well as being my 15th exploring anniversary so I might have to do something special.

I feel bad you missed out on the good old days here. I will always love UER but forums have no traffic anymore because of modern social media. Always good to see the next-gen on here though!

Honestly it's surprising it still has this much traffic!

Most forums i was using either cars or other hobbies are just completely dead.

The old days seem like they were awesome, but the community today isn't at all underwhelming. I was absolutely blown away by this site when I first found it in 2020. Maybe I'll try to get to a UE meet in a few years if there's any even still happening nowadays.

Yeah, for the most part. A shame. That age of the internet was fun.

Exploring is so last decade, nobody does it anymore. Anyway, if anyone needs me or my friends we'll be in the sewers with a twelve pack of beer and a hammer drill doing things of extremely questionable legality to the city infrastructure.
