French sport involving climbing up, leaping onto and jumping off of manmade structures. Described as going from "point A" to "point b" with the efficiency in mind to use in real life situations. Also related to free running.

The aim is to flow, and while a contributor says it has a philosophy, which is correct, the emphasis has shifted towards tricks and commercialisation in recent years, although the specific form of "parkour" has only been known outside of France, and even in France popularly, for approximately 4 years, after the TV broadcast of "Jump London". Since then, it has and is becoming, a mainstream "sellout".

The vast majority of movements are vaults over horizontal objects.

Sometimes considered the distant cousin of urban exploration for its philosophy of freedom and unrestricted movement.
