Green Unpleasant Nursing Home

Over the last couple of months I've spent an inordinate amount of time in Wales, after reconnecting with a couple of old friends who love their chapels, and along with the chapels I've done a few other places, this being one of them. I don't normally like nursing homes but the incredible decay in areas of this building marked it out as somewhere to see.

There isn't a whole lot of history, it was once the vicarage for the adjacent church (now converted into a private residence), and became a nursing home sometime in the middle of the 20th Century, with the addition of some nasty modern extensions. In 2018 an electrical fault sparked a fire in the roof area of the older part of the building hospitalising six residents, and the home never reopened.

The front rooms of the old building are the most spectacularly decayed, where the fire fighters dumped a load of water onto the roof above all the water has contributed to some epic green walls and damp inside. The more modern part is dull and rubbish, totally soulless, so I spent little time in there.

You say unpleasant, but I love a moldy location. Great stuff as always.

You wasnt joking were you!?! lol, Love this level of decay and green mold. Makes things so interestingly disgusting. 7 and 8 are my faves.. The stairwell has the right amount of light for a great pic and the angle with the push button entry door caught my eye. 8 is so grossly green, its mesmerizing.

It certainly did have a distinct smell in half of it. That smell of damp carpet never leaves you once you smell it for the first time!

It really was green in the truest sense of the word, I've seen some places with green walls before but never to this extreme.
