Such a shame. It sounds like they may be using this as reason to actually do something about the site and preserve the shuttles and rocket. Hopefully something good comes of it, there aren't too many abandoned space shuttles left to see.

It beggars belief how they managed to get all the way in there with a fuck load of spray cans.

The ironic thing is they obviously did it for the infamy but in doing so have immediately stopped anyone else ever being able to see it, thus rendering the entire thing pointless. There's plenty of people out there looking to get the guys responsible for it, if I was one of those knuckledraggers I'd be keeping a very low profile.

The hike, the location, and the history behind it. I had planned a second trip, postponed because of COVID and now it's never happening.

I've mentioned it elsewhere but this is what happens when explorers whore themselves and their photos out to the media. I've seen people complaining who are the same ones who ran their mouth about the place to anyone who would listen. I don't really understand how photographers can exist in the same space as taggers and expect them to not tag. So next time you think it doesn't matter that you're posting photos of a place because it's "so hard to access", get over yourself and hold onto the photos. I know we all want to pretend we are special when we visit something hard to access, but if you got into a place, so can anybody else. It's a short trip from offline entirely, to photos being posted, to names being dropped and the spot being ruined.

Apparently the graff happened in April and has already been cleaned off, if you believe the Russian media reporting. So who knows what to believe!
