Huge Art Deco Power Plant (Pic Heavy)

Spring break didn't go as planned, but I at least got this impromptu power plant in before too much went wrong. Maybe it's because it was my first real power plant, but pictures do not do this place justice in terms of scale. Entry wasn't too difficult, but it seems like the vandalism hasn't really picked up at all in the last year or 2. Hopefully soon school will lighten up and I can get back to exploring after like 2 years off. Anyway, enjoy some rainy day power plant pictures.

Cool photos! Like the control panel and broken glass Pic 22. But, i really love the angle, and lighting in pic 11. Solid Industrial set! Enjoyed these.

I love it! Two separate turbine/generator rooms, wow. Was this coal-fired?

Great location and photographs ... really like your perspective and use of light and shadows, especially the dark room #4 with what looks like an ancient wall of old computer hardware which would now probably fit into your smart phone!

Yep, coal fired. Just the one turbine hall though, I just went back at the end to shoot it again so the order is weird. I only know of a few plants that have twin turbine halls but I really want to check them out.

Not sure how I missed this post first time around! Excellent shots man - and how exciting it must have been to get your first power plant! I've been to 2, quite some time ago and long before I was taking pics and documenting explores. Certainly before I knew what I was doing [urbex] was a thing. I've never been back to one since

Oh, huh! I was confused by pics #2 and #13 then. Are those taken from the opposite ends of the hall? I guess I'm as easily turned around looking at pictures as I am in real life .

Yep, same hall from opposite ends. #2 is taken from the turbine control room and #13 from the crane. You can see both vantage points from the pictures. I posted them all in chronological order, and after reaching the top of the boilers we went out to the crane over the turbines. It probably makes more sense to people who have been there.
