March it was when I did found this one 13 years ago at 2008... and March it was now when I did return there for 16th time since then. It was complete chaos already at first visit... and it have get even worst through the years. Amazingly there still are some beautiful details left untouched. One of my all time favorite locations still.

In the Shadow Side:

Come In, Spring Light, Come In:

Something Blue:

Still Blooming:

Long Wait:

For the Pains (Sudden End):

For Pins and Needles:

Believe or Not:

Days of Creating:

Words:

-----

And this weekend's special-extra-hyper-super-pureshit-bonus-pic comes from the rapids once again. Not too warm still:

Once again; thanks for scrolling this low. Merry weekend for all and everyone!

Kiva! (Nice!)

I'm surprised the house is still relatively in shape (no collapsed ceilings, etc) after being abandoned for 13+ years. Really good and toughtfully-composed photos. I can definitely feel a presence there, still. It's a more evocative series than most similar ones I've seen so far.

Awesome! So glad you made it back there to take some more shots from this interesting home. Wonderful large picture window in Still Blooming. They had a good view from there. In my mind it would overlook a lovely lake. Do you know what kind of pain pills/capsules those are? I think i recognize those magazines on that chair. Very old Awake's. They are still being printed to this day. Great Articles in those! Always Love your pics WH.

Thank you very much, but wait maybe 10 years more and I'm pretty sure you get enough of these endless returns and retakes of photos. xD But really, thank you very much!

Great photos!

Thank you very much - you have excellent taste! But talking seriously, this is one reason why I always speak for "every place is worth of going back". With just one visit you see so little... and at another time just light is so different. Keep returning, that is my advise for everyone.

Hey, that is true! I suppose here in Finland houses are (or were) made to last... you know, winter's with easily under -20 Celsius and summers maybe +30. Mostly it looks that if roof lasts and air is changing inside, they last amazingly long.

But anyway, thank you very much!

I actually did Google those pills, and they just were for pains, mostly like for old people and after surgery or so. So I suppose that they are kind of link to the end.

Yeah, those magazines are pretty well spread I suppose. Called as Watchtower here, Jehovah's witness. Makes me always wonder how people can believe almost anything and ignore past completely. And yeah, where else you can find so doomsday related material than in those? Year after year, decade after decade it will come... TOMORROW!!! xD

Anyway, thank you very much! One more absinthe shot at this evening, and I'll take it for this comment obviously!

I dont know what the world looks like from Finland, but from here it makes me think maybe thet the JW's have been right all along... The world has been getting worse and worse, decade after decade. Now, it seems its spiraling out of control. Economically, Socially, Politically etc. Now, the Pandemic, Earthquakes one place after another, Violence, Unrest. Anyways, Makes a person think.. and i always enjoy your photography. Thank You!

One of the misconceptions related to abandoned places is that they are somehow "frozen in time" after their active use ceased. One particular aspect in your work that I especially like is how you return to the old places to capture their subtle changes and gradual deterioration over time.

Thank you so very much. I always been little like... you know... when people tell how they did get into 20+ loations IN ONE DAY and never return! It makes me always wonder how they make it, or it is just like "point is getting into somewhere, what is in there isn't important at all" or what the hell? But maybe I'm bit strange because it seems that I can't get overdose - I can take same photos again and again and still they feel like new ones. That feels bit strange even for me. xD

But at the other hand, you really can't see even half with just one visit, and you can find new even with 40th visit. Times change, light change, everything change... which brings us to that thing which is really interesting with these long series. In my Autiot ja unohdetut Facebook page, where I did publish these today, some people did say about that blue towel photo how it looks like it is put there like just now. Even I did start to little bit wonder do I remember wrong that it were at same place when I did find this one. So I did look old photos and...

My first photo which contains that blue towel - from 2009. Since that bed have been turned over, that white box thing from the wall have vanished and STILL THAT BLUE TOWEL IS AT SAME PLACE! It really is pretty damned amazing.
