Whether it be other explorers, homeless people, or anything else.. What's the best way to go about getting out of a possibly sticky situation. (mainly how to deal with people with ill intent) I'm assuming a good assumption is to trust no one. With that being a shared, mutual feeling, what are some tips to get out of any of these situations.

You won't have any problems with other explorers unless you make a problem for yourself.

Ditto with homeless people, in all my experiences they usually just want to be left alone and don't want to interact with you.

The only people you're likely to have some sort of problem with are addicts, and the best course of action there is to simply avoid the location entirely.

Usually scrappers or people who use the place as a hang out(mostly in shitty areas) are who I’d mostly be concerned about. Then junkies since sometimes they’ll do whatever to make a buck for their next high. But yea I agree on his input to just avoid the place all together if it looks that type of way.

I've rarely ever had issues with people i've run into. Other than pigs, of course.

Possibly carry some extra smokes or such as a peace offering in case an uncomfortable situation is to arise. Y'know, something to put the others at ease.

From my experiences I've never had an issue with scrappers, as they are equally not supposed to be doing what they are doing and just want to get their stuff, as long as they know you're there and won't bother them they've been fine - there are of course always exceptions!

I've run into other people while exploring and they've always been cool. Well one time I ran into security and they weren't so cool 😂

The one time I actually had to deal with a "hostile" homeless person it was somebody chucking bottles and cans out the fifth story window while we were walking around below. Never even saw them, just saw a can fly out of the window every few seconds, not even aimed at us. It was pretty clearly just an attempt to scare us off instead of an actual attack so I yelled up that I was sorry we bothered them and left. Most homeless people just want to be left alone.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

I try to always have a dollar or two to give to homeless people. I also make it a point to walk right up to anyone else I see inside a location. Usually this lets them know that I am not scared of them and I am interacting with them on my terms from the get-go. I always explain I am only here taking pictures.

In my experience, when I come across another person, we usually end up scaring each other because we didn't expect another person to be there, acknowledging each other, and then just moving on. Co-signed about the fact that people, whether they're other explorers or homeless people, just want to go about their business.

That being said I've never had a situation go bad and that's my #1 fear.

Well to be honest. I don't post much on here photo wise. I'm also fairly new to exploring and I'm not sure how this website functions. This website is older than me so I do my best to ask questions and learn from the pros
