The place was actually first started constructing in 1994. opened in 2001,
with poor management and it's remoted locations ...the whole theme park has eventually closed in 2005. Truthfully, the first time I went to the surrounding area is in the year 2002 when I was just a Teenager...Nature kills everything.

Would love to be able to visit this place. Really cool buildings and statues. Love the doors on the building in #7.
24 is Awesome! Wonder what kind of activities took place out there? Boat shows perhaps?...

Hi Steed. It's actually called shizi(lion),xiezi means shoes. The place mainly built for tourist attractions and also for movie sets. Some buildings are coping with the design from Beijing forbidden cities.

It's actually a tourist attraction for citizens to visit. The place is also a linking and connecting for Taiwan and domestic China. That's why there are so many elements and cultural things from Taiwan(The Mazu temple). Simply because Taiwan is an indispensable park of mainland China if you understood Chinese, the name of the park which means family union, besides the place, was a great location for movie shooting. Until it fully abandoned it became a great location for fishing and barbecuing.

It's interesting when theme parks are built in a remote area with the hope of attracting visitors.

Wow, this place is really cool. I love all the architecture! I'm not sure what #9 is supposed to be but it is certainly my favorite photo in the set. The aerial view in #26 is amazing too! Thanks for sharing your awesome explore.

A friend told me 9 is the interior of 20, and he said it's a dogfighting arena. Not sure if it's supposed to look like one, or actually one.

Thanks for your comment, It was a dogfighting place. But actually, it has been highly prohibited nowadays here in China especially in major cities(some remote countryside might still remain for gambling... anyway I would love to post more urbex images when I am available.
