Abandoned Radio Station?

Hi, I'm fairly new to Urban Exploration, and I've got a question. So I recently happened to discover an abandoned radio station in a small town in New Jersey. The sign at the entryway has been removed, it's a little overgrown and there are a couple broken windows, but otherwise it's very much intact. It looks to have been abandoned for around a few months. There is still furniture inside, and there is little to no graffiti. There were typical warning signs in place about cameras, however I was unable to spot any cameras or even exterior lights.

So I was wondering if you guys think this is a safe place to explore? The front door is locked but several windows have been broken.

The doors locked, move along. If there was an easy way in without causing further damage, ok.

It's far cheaper to put up a sign warning of cameras as a bluff than it is to install actual cameras. Play it by ear, if you know a way in and don't see any cameras just put on a face mask or something just in case and go for it.

Like they said, if you can get in without causing damage, you should go for it. Be safe and know your limits. Good luck

If you can get in without breaking anything then go for it and snap a few photos.

Re: cameras, they're useless without someone or something watching them. There are a few companies that provide remote alerting on motion detected from camera feeds, and of course alarms with motion detectors do the same thing. Generally the monitoring/alarm company receives alerts from the device and call the local police, who may or may not respond.

From looking at stuff and listening to police radio, it seems like the actively watched cameras generally belong to "high value" stuff like construction sites, and, police treat alerts from the monitoring company as low priority. But there are some exceptions.

If you're on the fence, you might put on appropriate facial covering in consideration of These Trying Pandemic Times, go inside, make a scene for 5-10 minutes with lots of movement and flashlights. Then leave and see if anyone shows up.

If you do end up doing this explore, please post some pictures! As a bit of a radio nerd I'd love to see them.

I'm in the same camp with a lot of the other posters, if there's a way in without doing any damage I'd go for it!
