I got lucky with this place as it is owned and currently being remodeled. I saw a photo of this theater posted on Instagram by a fellow explorer and just knew I had to go. That night I spent the whole night trying to track this place down through a single photo. Anyone else do this too? Please tell me I'm not crazy. Anyway, I was lucky enough to finally find it and was able to contact the very kind owner who had let me in for a look around. It was really weird to actually be let in and locked inside of an "abandoned" place by the owner, however I am very grateful for his generosity. This place is now currently being remodeled and I cannot wait to see how this beauty turns out.

History: The Victory Theatre was built in 1920 by the Goldstein Brothers Amusement Company in Massachusetts. It opened its doors to the public on December 30, 1920 with a gala event featuring singing vaudeville acts and the “Super-Photoplay ‘The Furnace’” directed by William Desmond Taylor. All proceeds from the day were donated to the city hospital and House of Providence Hospital. Named after the recent Allied victory in World War I, not only was the Victory the last theater built in Holyoke, it was also one of the finest. The architecture is Art Deco and it is considered to be the last of its type between Boston and Albany, New York. It was converted to a movie theater following a restoration after a fire in 1942. The theater closed its doors in 1979. The property is currently owned the Massachusetts International Festival of the Arts (MIFA) and is currently being restored with the goal of opening the theater by its 100th anniversary on December 20th, 2020.

P.S. - I am so very sorry for the awkward posts. I am new to this whole posting thing and I am not really too sure what I am doing lol.

P.S.S - Oh boy, I never noticed how grainy my photos are before :'(

That's a hell of a process, so glad it worked out for you, the end result is fantastic...this looks like a great explore! I love that last shot with the popcorn bucket, and all that theatre seating! It's cool you were able to get permission to check it out, thanks for sharing! 🙂
