Hey peeps! I found this app called Randonaut which seems to put random pins on a local map for you to go explore. It seems similar to some divination practices in its explanation, which I didn't pay much mind to as it was bit too convoluted. The basics is they like to use this quantum randomization process to take you to a place you'dve never been otherwise. It seems like most people who use the app claim to see oddities on their adventures, typically upon arriving at the location the app specified.

I think the app is an interesting tool and am curious if anyone else has heard of "Randonauting"?

I tried to get some coordinates from it once out of curiosity and it told me to go two miles offshore to the middle of a lake, and I don't own a boat. So I decided that was too much work.

Most of us here have gotten really, really good at using google maps and old Sanborn insurance maps from the local library to find shit.

I've never heard of that app but from what I can tell, it just tells you to go to random places with might be interesting but I'd rather look around on google earth, pick a few locations, and go visit them in person. At least I know something is going be there when I show up even if it's just an empty lot. Plus driving to locations that are further away I always stumble across something I hadn't seen before anyhow so that sort of takes care of that for me. Just my thoughts but I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Heard about it, downloaded the app, and have loaded up coordinates a few times. One time it did lead me to a drain, but it was one I already knew about. Seems like something fun to do when I'm home bored and not exploring, but then again I'd rather go fishing or find an old farm house.

Hmm. Sounds kinky.

I’ve never used the app, but how it that any different than just opening Google Earth or Maps and randomly picking a location? Sometimes I do just that, then zoom out, find the nearest river or RR and follow it. You’d be surprised how often that can lead to something interesting.

Something something quantum generator, from what I've heard. Oh, and sometimes you can find human corpses.

I gave the app a couple tries but it’s no fun when you know about near-everything around you.

It’s mostly an app just for kids who never took in the fun of getting out and exploring the more hidden areas of their town haha.
