The ride from hell, was supposed to take six hours but took over 24. The train clipped a lady, shattering her arm and they used that opportunity to also fix a bad order car about mid-train. We sat in one spot for about 14 hours, during which they powered down both DPUs and we lost that sweet sweet air conditioning. We tried to sleep in the hundred degree heat all night. Woke up the next morning and started hot boxing the unit and we heard a radio call from the conductor that our DPU wasn't remote starting so he was gonna have to walk back to do it manually. Fuck. We scrambled to gather up all our shit and flee down the very steep grade a little bit and hope we weren't laying directly in any poison ivy. We giggled as the conductor climbed into and then out of the unit, we had left a pretty thick cloud of pot smoke in there.
