In addition to what I said earlier, give much more perception into a city you’d be exploring in. Compared to rural locations, you need to understand and evade potential dangers in the city. Best bet is to check out stories of others who explore in the area.

Be mindful if what you’ve got on you. Probably the best approach to this problem is wearing un-logoed dark clothing, and carrying around an unmarked bag.

Also, you don’t want to come across a building overrun by squatters, or worse.

I generally stick with backwoods, as I do most of my exploration by motorcycle and I just enjoy wandering rural highways of the Southeast US... and I am a bit anti-social. I have to admit being a but jealous of the industrial ruins the larger northern cities.

Posted by Explorer Zero I'll take the backwoods any day. In fact, I moved to the backwoods if west Texas mesquite brush and prickly pear counts as woods. Just don't do people's houses man. And remember you're going to stick out like an urban person out here LOL.

I prettymuch explore anything I can safely explore. whether it be out in the country. in the urb. up in the air or under the ground. I have no bias against any setting as long as I don't get chased around by cops. or meth heads.

Ive had guns pointed at me before. Not while exploring but in my new life as a law abiding citizen.

Moving from a giant metro area to the country has changed my exploring beliefs/activity and, my view on people in general. Its not as anonymous out here Hell I might be going to the same church as the guy that owns that abandoned farm now you never know.

I have to be careful about where I trespass. And I don't do residential locations due to my own ethical standards and beliefs and shotguns and whatnot etc etc.

Dang that's crazy. Luckily I never had to deal with that yet. But I'd be seeing black and white and sweating bricks just thinking about being in a situation with a gun pointed at me. That's my biggest fear while exploring.

I used to live in the open suburbs of Ohio before going into Chicago. So it's a bit opposite for me haha. I miss the open plains of Ohio. On the one hand, it might be easier to find locations to explore in the metro areas. But the open country side still has a charm to it that I can't stop missing.

Personally I think the more interesting bits come from abandoned farms or other locations you would find only in the backwoods. I don't now, I think I'm biased in regards to the countryside

Only place I have stared down the barrel of a gun is a small rural overgrown home. After that, rural sites lost their luster with me. If I am going to get shot, let's make it epic and not a one bedroom wooden home with jars of preserved peas in the cupboard.
