After getting its name in 1849 due to the death of 13 members on a wagon train short cut to the gold fields, Death Valley was a place to avoid by many until Gold and Silver was discovered and then later Borax. Many came here to strike it rich. Some did, but most didn't. Throughout the valley lies the shattered remains of ghost towns, mills, cars, and mines, all surrounded in beautiful, but yet deadly landscape. The farther you go off the highway the more there is to find. After spending almost a week exploring this landscape with @WindsorSB there is still so much to discover. This is our journey and our discoveries along the way, I hope you guys enjoy.

This is fucking great.

This was an awesome trip, so much to go back and see. I shot 17 rolls of c41 and 2 rolls of B&W on this trip plus a handful of phone shots but here are my favorites. This trip was like a tour through a museum of desolation.

Both of you took some beautiful photographs, but what really stood out to me were two things that made me laugh. I like the name Speed Queen (p&p much?) and found the Royal Hawaiian Motel trees amusing. The palm trees are dead so they lost their leaves, and the palm tree painted on the motel sign is losing its leaves to sun bleaching, so it looks just like the others from a distance. That was funny to me.

You guys have consistently delivered some seriously awesome shots, and I really like how well the film works with this location. Well done - really love the shots with the plane, especially number 22 by WindsorSB.

Thank you all for the comments, the more positive feedback from y'all, the more I want to shoot and share what I've found. This trip was incredible.

I love the desert and I think @Goste will agree it's impossible to put into words the feelings you get from being out there. The abandonments only emphasize the emptiness and natural beauty of the desert. I would definitely recommend the trip!

I spend a lot of time wandering around in the desert, including many of the locations that you photographed. You did a great job sharing this amazing part of our country.

Can't believe that you actually went in some of those mines. Remember the saying, "Stay out. Stay alive." Did you die in there? Or did you make it out alive?
