True what Emperor Wang mentioned above* about the hospitals too - which is completely fucked up if you stop to think about that for a moment. ‘Pandemic reality’ is a totally different kind of reality than anything we’ve known in the last century.

*edit

As I said to my friend today (at a safe distance), it's a very strange feeling because you sometimes forget that things aren't at all normal right now and slip back into thinking about doing things or going places that you simply can't.

The sheer number of absolute morons in the UK at the moment is incredible, the crowds who seem to be treating this as some sort of holiday packing lakes, beaches, mountains etc is totally mad. The only way they will listen is a full on lockdown which I fear is what will be coming within the next few days because the general population is too boneheaded to choose to do whats best.

In Iowa, we've doubled the number of cases in 48 hours.

Still going uphill here.

It seems the incubation period is averaging about 5 days.

I suspect the virus is communicable during the incubation period, before symptoms appear.

That's the most difficult thing. You could have it and pass it before having a clue. Making it extra important to stay as sanitary as possible for everyone.

Good time to get into your favorite abandoned buildings though.

Security was still working at my favorite local spot. I guess security is a pretty solitary job.

If I didn’t know better, I’d assume you meant to say the U.S., instead of the U.K.

Then again, the parallels of our two countries in terms of shockingly bad ideas have been really uncanny.

They’re already looking to fast track med students into Doctorhood, why not make a cop out of a security guard?

Louisiana now on Lockdown. Guess Texas will be next. So sorry to hear about your Aunt Dee. I hope she will get the help she needs to make a full recovery eventually. Its hard when it hits close to home and the reality sinks in.. Take Care Everyone! Stay as safe as possible, and try to remain calm despite the fact its very overwhelming at times. Humor helps, Hoarding Doesnt! Keep your elderly friends and neighbors in mind.

You know your fucked when you here this from your State’s governor (TX);
“We have ready money to pay for anyone who can sell PPE to us, we'll cut you a check on the spot,"
Abbott said [on live national television to the audience moments ago].

He sounds like someone who’s dope sick. Or desperate.

Same thing is happening in the UK, due to idiots who don't need it hoarding the stuff. The government is asking any industry that is able to, to turn production to PPE or other essential medical supplies like ventilators.

i was watching a clip of a crowd at a soccer game in St Petersburgh and they were all singing "We Are All Going To Die"... gotta love that Russian fatalism.

well, the funtime coronavirus has even invaded my remote part of the universe... 3 cases here in Essex County NY (one just up the road 20 miles in Essex NY) and 4 in nearby Clinton County... Coupled to that, my idiot stepmother actually went to a wedding in the Dominican Republic and couldn't get back until last night. Hopefully she won't kill my father (he's suffering from a whole slew of respiratory ailments due to a 55 year career as a smoker- yay).

sensational, Egg, sensational.

NY just topped 20,000 cases with 5000 new cases since yesterday.

https://abc7ny.com...-19-cases/5989875/

53% of the cases in NY are in the 18-49 year old range.

If you think you have it, conserve your energy.
Potential life or death consequences for those who don't.
Even if you don't feel really bad or seem to be getting better.
You can go south rapidly and any physical exertion can push you past the point of no return.

As of this morning, Governor Evers is reversing his previous "no shelter in place" stance and is going to formally issue a shelter in place order tomorrow for the entirety of Wisconsin. There are no details yet on exactly how restrictive it will be, how stringently it will be enforced, or how long it will last for.
