We explored one of the biggest high schools in Gary Indiana this past weekend. It's on the list of 10 slated for demolition this year, so we wanted to see it while it was still standing. It was in average shape for an abandoned school in this area, but there was many interesting things left behind. After exploring for nearly 4 hours we called it a day and probably didn't even get to see half the school. While we were in there we encountered a homeless man who resided in one of the former classrooms, and heard another group of people in there as well who we tried to stay away from. The entire first floor of the school was flooded and frozen over, making walking a tedious task without slipping. There were some intact classrooms, but the majority were empty.

Avoid attention and get lost in plain sight.

Interesting photos. I hear that Gary is largely abandoned, but also slightly dangerous.

Saw your video and Lord Explores - amazing how much devastation in under 4 short years to this school compared to the other post on this board labelled "Snowed-in High School" that has been abandoned since 2008 but better secured.

Ya, it's crazy how hard these places get hit, and so fast too. All that damage in 4 years.

Gary is something else. I went to check out the famous church in the city and the fence being wide open made me nervous that now literally anyone in a town with a severe drug problem could walk in behind me while I have all my gear on me. Def need a partner for a lot of places in that city.

no god! please no! nooooooooooooo
