These are a collection of shots I took of an old wooden bridge with an abandoned-looking dam beneath it. The dam was full of cracks and holes everywhere. I found this while surveying a forest preserve.
I saw this at the edge of a forest at the opposite side of a road with a strange gate. When I explored the area, I found this gem (the last photo is the inside of the cracked dam):

LOL that pun!
Honestly, I'm not sure what the history is. The town itself that it's located at is pretty historic with a lot of historic windmills and factories. Although they are more for display than abandoned. The next time I check the place out, I'll definitely ask the locals. If you want to look it up, the city this is located at is Geneva, Illinois.

Yeah, it was a pretty strange. The bridge itself is really secure too despite the dam being pretty much destroyed and empty inside. This would make for a pretty cool Hide and Seek location if I was still a kid
