Annual Trip North (pic heavy)

Every year we take a trip up north to get some cold. Didn't get much exploring in but I did get to see some places I've been wanting to for a while.

The first spot was a synagogue that closed in the 90s. I found it from browsing google maps, and couldn't find any current pictures of the inside. We got there only to find at least 3 cameras on every wall of the exterior and power on on some parts inside. After a few entrances that lead to dead ends, we left.

After that failure, we decided to try a church that I was reminded of by driving right past it. It was sealed, but we ran into some other explorers who told us how to get into the building behind it.

We stopped along the way to our next destination to try another church. This one was also massive and sealed.

Then we got to Detroit. Last year the temperature was in the negatives, but it was in the warm 30s and 40s this year.

A quick stop at Packard to kill time. It was so weird to see it without the bridge.

We did some exploring downtown with various successes and failures. None very interesting though.

Then we revisited a factory from last year. I didn't bring gloves on the last trip, so I wasn't able to get all the way up the tower. From the outside, it looks like there's a little balcony at the top that I'd be able to get pictures from. After climbing to the top and walking across the rusted-through water tank, I opened to door to see a straight drop to the ground.

After that we tried a certain curvy wooden church, only to find brand new cameras and alarms on it. We did a school instead which I was pleasantly surprised by. We probably only spent half an hour inside but it was still really cool.

Awesome set from some of my favorite cities to explore in. I've never had much luck with that church in #8 and I've tried it at least three times. I've crawled all around the basement but have never been able to make it upstairs. Oh, and you probably have seen photos from the Synagogue. Here it is in 2017, before it was an instagram hotspot.

25 is cool!!

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

That synagogue is probably my favourite ever accidental find. Couldn't believe me and Essex waltzed right into it.

Beautiful set. Thanks for the trip walkthrough also. It's good to hear about the failures that can make the successes so much more sweet.
