A small 1 room building in the middle of nowhere that I couldn't find any info on, and 1 climbable radio tower!

I'm pretty sure it's one that I first saw & explored back in 2002. It's just...hmmm... about a mile or so S of a major intersection of two state roads, and on the W side, correct? And a big cemetery about 1.2 miles N?

If so, it's an old high-frequency (aka 'short-wave' radio receiver site. Back 15 years ago, the coax cable with a PL-259 connector was still on the ground by the one wooden pole, and if you explore the field during the day, you'll find a couple other wooden poles. The couple times I got inside, the phone still had a dial-tone & site still had electricity, though it was otherwise abandoned (maintenance paperwork for the HVAC indicated it hadn't been inspected in at least a few years). The steel lattice tower once had a microwave antenna aimed at a main station along the coastline roughly 10 miles SSW (that station should still be intact possibly a fantastic site to explore, but I'm not sure if it's abandoned or just has one technician there occasionally).

It was just used for a brief period of time, and there was talk about re-using the steel tower & building to house a cellphone site, but it never happened.

Yes that is exactly where it is. I did see the wooden poles (some have fallen over now), but the tunnel for the cable was empty and the whole area was super overgrown and riddled with poison oak.

Tanks for the info on the building and I will definitely be on the lookout for the other station!

Using https://www.californiacoastline.org/ it's hard to miss.

Also, if you go up into that big cemetery, stay on the narrow, paved-road on the far right that leads up the hill, past the Chinese graves section, heading N (you may get some looks, but just act like you belong. It *is* a vehicle road), you'll come across one interesting old wooden structure on your right (another old maritime radio station, active until the 1970s) and then keep driving past it & you'll see a *really* interesting facility straight ahead...

I also believe that the other station near the cemetery was torn down because of construction.

Lastly, I've been intrigued by the "*really* interesting facility" for quite a while(if you are talking about the 3 dome building), and can't find any info on it. I also can't gather the courage to walk up to it because it looks active on google maps and could possibly be a military installation.

The old radio station *in* the cemetery (when I was last there 10+ years ago, lot outside the old wooden building was storing concrete crypt things & misc stuff, inside of the old radio building had misc storage -- all in all, very creepy) was shut-down for a couple reasons, mostly though the historic old the site just wasn't needed. I've spoken with some people that worked there until closure.

As for the site further down the road, you can drive right up to the gate. It's owned & operated by a large military/aerospace contractor but yeah, they deliberately keep its presence low-key. Like you, I kinda freaked-out when I first saw it, but it's not a 'secret command bunker' like you'd think it is...
