I call this a "visit" because I really didn't get a chance to explore it yet. Only had my iPhone camera on me at the time.
Due to work, I have a client in the general vicinity of this location I've been wanting to visit for a while. On my way to work I get the call and next thing I know I'm on my way to him.
Initially I was going to just scout some ingress routes since I was in the area. However, since I told my boss I was going to a major metropolitan area instead of a mid-point, I had some extra time to kill. Naturally this turned into parking and examining the surrounding property. Then I'm looking at the best route in. Then I'm running across a field in khakis and a polo, trying to avoid detection. And then, well, you get it. This was kind of impulsive.
Anywho, I quickly followed the trail of beer cans and I'm in.
I didn't venture very far into anything since I didn't have my flashlight with me, and as you all know the phone flashlight doesn't do shit.
1) The first building. I took an exterior shot as well but my iPhone is being a PITA.

2) The main attraction, I'm sure a lot of you know what this is. Interesting to see how overgrown it is in summer.

This was pretty cool visiting my first asylum, and I look forward to doing a full explore in the near future.
On my way to my car I had my first "oh shit" moment in exploring.
I was coming through an area to the lot I parked in, on private property, and see three cars (not popo) pulling into the parking lot. As I'm coming out of the brush I hear two honks and go into fight or flight mode. I wasn't sure if they were for me but I'm not fucking around to find out.
I speed walk to my car and gtfo, paranoid the whole time that they might try to block me in if they were the property owners.
Obviously I made it out unscathed, probably at benefit to looking official in my work clothes. Still though, that got my blood pumping.
The scariest moment came about 5 minutes later on the interstate when I noticed a small spider on my forearm. I'm an arachnophobic. That was fun.

Anyways, thanks for reading and stay tuned for the full explore with proper photos!
