Equally great welcome for every women, men and others! At this weekend I shall take you back to happy days, which my today’s reality means beginning of 4 day easter holiday. It was thursday when everything seem to be right. First of all I was at morning shift. Of course I was tired, I mean really tired after hard day at work (including eternal "I'm strange and I can't fit in" feelings"), but that weather… first real SUMMER day! So I decide to give a drive to my girlfriend to work (she did have evening/night shift) so I were able to get on the road. And this is story of that.

First I did drive some 70 kilometers to do some searching at riverside; I’d find some information from old white water inventory from early ’80s – lot of interesting small rapids where have been some water power related industry at past. River did flow (in Finnish scale) in quite deep glen in the middle of wide fields. Some trees did catch my attention immediately when getting closer:

Then I did descend to that glen, fighting my way through the jungle wondering if there would be anything anywhere… but finally I did find something causing obvious Indiana Jones vibes:

Not too much to see there anyway, so I did decide to continue my journey to unknown. Last photo from that place – it’s old mill keepers house. Sad that it was opposite side of that river which was impossible to get over at spring time. But now there is reason for return:

Next I did decide to drive maybe 20 kilometers to see if old, forgotten van would still be there from where I did find it years ago. It was, but sadly most of forest was taken from around it taking lot of magic away with it too. Weather was hot, sunlight was even too hard, but here is that van anyway:

Hmm, what next? I even did some what thinking returning home (I really was tired), but freedom did win… and I did drive maybe 20 or 30 kilometers to countryside, where should flow small river and maybe there could still be something that I did find… you know from where. So I did park my car at the side of gravel road and get to the fields:

I did find that river, I did fight my way through the jungle and suddenly I did see some pretty massive structures there:

Even here most of ”once were” was vanished, but still that stone structure did give some nice vibes for everlasting child like me:

And those colors…

At this point clock start to be quite much, and I did start to be REALLY tired. But hey, Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! One friend did ask just same day ”do you know that…” and I decide that maybe I should check that one too. And bloody hell I’m glad that I did! When getting there, walking on that pretty vanished road shadows were already quite dark… but that place was on small hill and… when arriving, it was immediately obvious that it would take some time. First of all there were old Peugeot:

It was so beautifully taken by time… and it was running against setting sun, trying to catch as much as possible:

And that wasn’t even all – there were two of them! I’ve never been biggest friend of French cars, but these at that moment… sure got that something:

All those dead leaves and empty eyes and that Freedom and oblivion of that abandoned farm… amazing:

And if that wouldn’t already been amazing enough:

It was one of those ”I’ve seen already all and everything… before something else comes” moments. Yeah, there were tree growing inside that car.

Light from setting sun was soft and beautiful and there were feel of miracle and power of nature and oblivion – all very strong. Probably most amazing view that I’ve ever seen when photographing abandoned cars. You can guess I was SOOOOOOOOOOO happy that I did get there, right then:

And like I said, they both were Peugeots:

And yeah, there were house too. Sun was already low, air was getting colder but it still were warm:

Old trees, old house…

Sadly I was bit late, there were no reason for entering far than vestibule. Actually even that did feel so unstable that it was quick few photos hoping it won’t fall on me, and away.

-----

So that was amazing beginning of excellent 4 days Freedom… and at very next day we did get to that Beast in Black’s gig, so today’s off-topic-bonus-bloody-shot shall continue that theme:

That’s it. Must say cheers, because at next week my job at work is changing and I'm of course filled with stress; will I be able to learn it quickly? Damned my always stress-filled head.

Great set as always! Glad you've been able to experience some spring finally. Love that empty blue sky, and 'and those colors'...the old Pugeot with the tree growing in it is pretty killer; those are some sweet shots (like nature retakes in the rebirth of spring...).
Excellent bonus shot as well; thank you, and cheers, and good luck on the new job! I hope your stress eases, too...

Love. LOVE the tree growing in the car. Such a warm feeling as nature takes over slowly but surely. Cant wait until you can get back to the Red mill keepers house. Look quite inviting Dont you think!?!? Your first pic was a winner too. Great field shot so nicely showing its greenery...What is planted there?

Yeah, it is spring here now. But that day was bit exceptional. Like now, over week later, it's snowing outside.

I thought it did all melt away, but I was wrong. At this morning I was photographing abandoned (old) cars in place where still were some snow left... and actually it is snowing right now outside.

But summer is coming, slowly. And it's good, because at next week I'm changing completely to working outside. Drinking heavy at this saturday evening (right now) to forget it...

Thank you very much anyway, with snow or without it.

Yeah, finally it is coming... at least somehow: Like I wrote upwards, it's snowing right now but it won't stay I suppose (=hope).

And yes, that Peugeot with tree inside was something that really, really, really did stop me there. Amazing view.

And thank you, I wish so too.

I love it too. I mean LOVE. So now you know what you gonna get over and over and over again...

And so it does. Actually I did think back then if I should take round over there, but it's bit hard place (neighbouress etc), so it would be better get to it by over river.

And what grows on those fields..? I don't know. Might be some grain or... bloody hell, I don't know. Real citizen now (in this 17 185 people town).

Thank you very much and cheers! This whiskey obviously goes for you.
