I'm a high school student and I work as a busboy during the summer. Going to college this year for computer science.

I just graduated college with a Rehabilitation degree in physical and psychosocial disabilities. Honestly though, I don't know what I want to do with it so I'm still working at a youth development place. It's nice because I have weekends off so it gives me prime time for exploring.

Spent 37 years in computer programming for banks, casinos, and state government. Thirty of those years as programming manager. Retired just over a year ago.

For fun, I'm a PADI divemaster, taught campfire cooking, and currently teach motorcycle riding. My friend and I just bought a 36' sailboat for some on-the-water adventures. And of course, mine exploring. Just got back from a four day trip to a great mine with some amazing explorers.

First job was as a busboy, got my SmartServe/waiter certification but unfortunately by that point the place already had a full waitstaff. Since then I've been working at a steel plant doing gas plumbing and grunt work. I'm due to be finished there this month and just got my private investigator/security dual license. Looking forward to becoming a private investigator, wanted to be one since I was a lad.

Technician at an automotive plant. BA in chemical engineering (don't let that intimidate you, I was a C student). Otherwise, if had other odd jobs like McDonald's, lifeguarding, line cook at a bar and grill restaurant, camp counselor, pizza delivery driver. And I'm sure there's much more to come.

that's why my brother got done and went to work in the same mill I did... he started right out of high school. Worked at a small service station for like eight years, and then worked at a dealership for 13 or 14.

Wow! You're pretty interesting.

"Teach" writing at a university, tried to get a PhD, didn't happen. Work part-time at Lowe's. Used to raise two kids but they are teenagers now.

I'm a structural designer at a local engineering firm, been here 24 years. Watched the company grow from about 50 employees to over 500 (counting other companies that we have absorbed and operate now). We do work from Corpus to Houston area and some in Louisiana in petrochemical plants and manufacturing sites. We provide all aspects of engineering/design.

My job comes in quite handy when I am exploring as I have done many structural evaluations of facilities over the years and am pretty comfortable judging where to walk and where not to when exploring.

Side note, I am scared of heights, like very scared, like pass out scared. So yeah, that adds a nice twist to my job as I often find myself over a hundred feet off the ground. :/

Prior to that I sold beer kegs and hustled pool to get through college.

Started out building fences when I was in high-school, then continued to punch holes and plant posts until I graduated. Afterwards I fooled around in Auto Detailing and Overnight Shelf Stalking at the local grocery market. I got my "big break" when the bank next door was desperately looking to fill the shoes of a Personal Banker, and miraculously I fit the bill. About a year or so down the road the bank foreclosed and shut it's doors, so I migrated to another local bank in town. After work I'd drive to the nearest city and attend night school, where I got my Major in Automotive Technology. I stayed with the bank for over three years until a position arose at the Title Company on Main St. and that's where I'm at now.

Oh, and sometimes I like to pretend I'm a Paranormal Investigator... Even if it means charging people to wander around their house with my Ghost Busters "Ghost Detector" I got from the thrift store when I was 12.

Currently managing a Liquor Store in the middle of nowhere. We're surprisingly busy though. It seems that isolation drives people to hit the bottle hard.

Honestly the money is decent, especially for where I live... I'm just 1000% over what I do.

I'm a musician. When I was 16, I applied to a small concert venue about 15 minutes from my town. I got accepted because I knew a very tiny bit about sound and now this year will be my fifth year there. I got into stage lighting after I talked to the venue's LD about learning and he was chill with it.

I used to be a school bus driver for a high school, and that was a super fun job, as I always got placed in the snow-route rotation and got to do a ton of really fun driving in adverse conditions. I was also able to do this while getting a BS in business and an MBA. I got kind of tired of dealing with the kids and getting stuck in the snow, so I eventually quit.

The next step was working for a video game publishing company. This job was a sweeeeeet gig, but the owner of the company was (and still is) batshit crazy. When I was there we worked on and released ARK, Rocket League, and a handful of other high-end games. I wasn't much of a gamer and didnt really see me moving up in the business, so I quit after about a year.


Now I work for a government agency that specializes in land and agricultural management. I'm technically a Recreation Technician/OHV Patrol Officer, which means I not only get to ride ATV's, dirtbikes, and UTV's at work all day, but I also get to go where nobody else does. We do a bunch of trail maintenance, trail building, and recreation development.

I've only been a seasonal employee for the past six years, but I really enjoy what I do and I'm hoping I can get on permanently once my boss retires. I don't really utilize my education, but I figure it'll be handy once I start moving up the chain. My bosses supervisors are trying to open up some rungs on the ladder for me, but it's government, so it takes time.

As far as exploring goes, due to the nature of my work, I have keys to almost every gate between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't use those keys to check out old cabins and homesteads in my spare time (and maybe when I'm at work).
