This hospital was founded as a tuberculosis sanatorium in the early 1900's, and was expanded and utilized as a general hospital and a nursing home before finally closing in 2015. I first scouted this place back in November, but was put off by the power and the signs of alarms, and by reports that bodies from the state crime lab had been stored here temporarily as late as last summer. Returning over the weekend, I finally found a workable POE and discovered a malfunctioning fire alarm system, but nothing else in the way of security. Not that there was much to secure; I have a knack for finding ostensibly awesome schools and hospitals only to find that they're completely empty of anything hinting at their former life. Nevertheless, I combed every inch of the place looking for any signs of a morgue, in particular, but to no avail. There were still some good shots to be had, though, on top of a great view from the roof and the chance to look down on kids practicing driving, a guy flying his drone, and a retiree metal detecting, all from four floors up.

Surprisingly, the real highlight of this place was the former nurses' quarters, which in stark contrast to the main hospital was chock-full of just the sort of photogenic leftovers that you would expect to see in a place like this, and therefore provided by far the better shots:

So all in all, not the major discovery I was rather hoping for, but still a very pleasant and surprisingly casual location in which to while away a beautiful afternoon. As always, thanks for looking!
