I came across what I think was once an ore mill (or maybe this place made paint? Any knowledge or thoughts would be appreciated). It was a very surreal experience, I’ve been hunting for places like this up and down Colorado over the last few years, and then ran into this literally 10 minutes away from where I’ve lived the whole time! Sorry about image quality, I’m gonna go back sometime when I have more time to take pictures on something other than my phone.

Cool spot, careful of the dust tho. It’s always a good idea to avoid dust - lol - duh - but yeah, so last few weeks I’ve ran into lime, asbestos, and radioactive dust in 3 separate spots. Just sayin’ ... careful

I always like to see the non-name/word graffiti. Looks like this location has some good ones. It's pretty cool to see how those art styles are so different but still have some of the same features.

Excellent thread/site/pics
Not a paint factory; no huge mixing blenders.
Maybe lime or sand; it has rotating roasting kilns so they were processing some kind of mined ore most likely.
By looking around you should see lots of whatever it was.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Yeah, I concur. I've explored an abandoned paint factory before, and even though most of the equipment was gone there was still enough to tell that this location looks nothing like that one on the inside.

It was a gold mill, what you are seeing are flotation cells used in the extraction of gold from pulverized ore. Long history of this in the area. Its a neat place and its great to see it still standing so many years after we first hit it. Amazed there isnt more graff since then, its likely been 10-12yrs since I was last there...

- diversity and collaboration

- imagining greatness a new paradigm

- together we can accomplish new goals

dot dot dot etc I used to work for a big corporation and was constantly inundated with that kind of amateur corporate psycho-babble propaganda speak

Any of us who have worked in the corporate world know the drill. Every couple of years there is a "paradigm change" and a whole new "outlook that will change everything"...that lasts until the next new thing... Ughhh

Not sure how I missed this the first time around. What a great location. As a mine explorer, this would be on my hit list of sites to visit. Great explore!

You laugh... I won the Service Excellence Award at my work way back in 1987. What a joke that was. The VP that flew in to give me and a couple of others our award actually stood up and said, "You've all heard this before so I won't go over it again." as he give us the award. Then he walked out. All my co-workers were appalled by it and I was just stunned. Wipe my butt with that award. I still have the frame though. I quit the job within 6 months.
