This last weekend I did some exploring in a new area, and while my first location was sealed up, the second one was rather successful, if not very exciting. As I made my way home, I drove by this motel, partially damaged by fire; so, with some daylight left, I pulled over and began what ended up being a nice little bonus on my trip.
No vandalism that I saw, and while there was some obvious fire/water damage, and many of the rooms were gutted, there was still alot to see, some of it like a sad little time capsule. When I got home, I Googled the name of the place and found an unexpected surprise...this little place had been used in a movie!
I figure it's probably best to be as discreet as possible, so I won't reveal anymore about its claim to fame. I had also learned that the fire occurred after abandonment, and is suspected to have been electrical in nature. Hope you all enjoy!

1. The lobby...get your snacks and ice!

2. This area looked like the caretaker/owner apartment...so much left laying around!

24. I don't know why this room was made up...it was the only one with furniture in it. It was homey, in a creepy "don't look behind you" kinda way...

Wow. This place is sick, literally sickening. Nice collection of shots, and fun to give that vhs collection.

Nice set. That place does look quite sickening in spots. I really liked the drooping fan in 9, and the diner looked to be in not too terrible of a condition.

Man, this place looks really cool, but I hope you wore a mask.

Love the VHS collection. Props for Blazing Saddles, Star Trek and, very appropriately, Explorers.

Thank you all, yeah that was a pretty cool collection of tapes. Someone must've really liked 'The Thin Man' (or maybe it was used as a lending library). The lobby/caretaker's area seems to have suffered mostly due to its close proximity to the fire damaged area...as well as being exposed to the elements. Fortunately I missed out on the smells, since I indeed was wearing my respirator mask.
It was interesting to see so much left laying around, but of course it would've been much better without the wet, moldy rot.
The diner was a separate building on the property, so it had been safe from the fire and the hoses. I kept my mask on, but it was definitely cleaner. Thanks again for looking!
