Months before that May Day there was a murder suicide in the area we where driving in, the husband tragically shot the wife and dog the himself. We started talking about that and how awful it was and the fact it happened in our own slow town, the talk ended with us in their drive way. Our first abandoned. I remember us gathering some flowers to put in the house for the wife which made us feel better about entering. The first step inside was overwhelming, all their photos, movies, mail, and everything was still there and they looked so happy in them. Moving to the kitchen the smell was awful, like most abandoned houses animals got in and trashed the food everywhere so we didn’t stay long. Finely we ended up at what we were looking for, where it all happened, the bedroom. We didn’t know what we where going to see but what we saw stayed with us forever, the heaviness and uneasiness in the room was tremendous as if the whole room it’s self was evil. Blood splattered the wall which was trying to be covered with a dirty mattress, the whole room was a mess cloths and other belongings throw around the room. We left the flowers on the mattress said we where sorry and ran out of the house and passing the old dog crate. They where all gone but they where all still there, I didn’t have to know them to see the memories of their existence flood past me through every step in there. My first exploration filled with sorrow will never leave me.
