This one feels kinda trippy because I’m not sure what would cause that pattern. Do you know? I doubt it’s from rust because it looks like its also missing a chunk, but I don’t know what porcelain or other bathtub suitable material would break like that either.

I think it is rust, actually.
The sink is made of cast iron coated with ceramic. it started with one little crack or pit, then water got in and rusted the iron underneath. the iron expanded slightly as it rusted, and the force from that caused the ceramic to flake off a tiny bit at a time.
And/or it's from the water freezing and thawing after getting trapped in rust under the ceramic.
I sat there a while trying to figure it out. That's my best guess. Must have taken decades.
