So like kicked me in the balls this past year, and I did my best impersonation of an opossum and played dead. But I am coming back alive. Had a friend talk me into a good ole fashioned explore, and it was well needed time in the grime.

I had not ventured anywhere in months, had even hardly picked up the camera during that time.

But I'm coming back baby!

So the following pics are mostly from one four day trip I took. Then a few from another short day solo trip. I imagine some of these places will look familiar to some, so no need for me to go too pic crazy. Those familiar with the locations are familiar with the challenges, met a couple of nice cops on the trip, had a country fellow shout to people too look out for the guy with the gun, me, but not a gun, met a pack of four pit bulls roaming the streets, I swear they were doing a dance routine from West Side Story. All in all a very healing trip!

Thank you, I wish I had family in Arkansas so I had a reason to go back through there! I want to revisit because I wanted to go back to some of the places at night, but I explored the local bar instead.

Yes indeed, in the 80s their Sugar Free Dr pepper was blue labeled. If ever I was tempted to take something it was one of those bottles! I did not, I wish I had. lol

I wish I had found a way into #19 #14 was so clean and gorgeous inside, prolly my favorite place to date.

Thanks! That door was a cooler door by the looks of it, took that in an old meat processing facility.

I did not find it to be too skatchy (see what I did there?). But I was there around 10:00 AM on a Monday morning on my way home and there was a lot of people around going about their daily grind, so I did not poke around much.

Yes, I'm pretty sure. It looked caved in when I was there a couple years ago. It's pretty much just four walls at this point. It's a shame too...

Wow, these are great! I only recognize about half of them. I love the texture in the room with the chair in it.

I've been away for a while too and I've been wanting to do a thread similar to this. I have trouble keeping the attention span to put together a coherent photo post, but you might have inspired me to try.

Great Pics! Love your perspective on 28. I stumbled upon that location driving from Wisconsin to Corpus Christi. Woke my whole family whipping a u-turn to go back and grab some pics.

I, myself, have been kicked by life in the lower regions for the last year or so as well. I moved and spend most of my time working, hanging out with my kiddos, and avoiding the summer explorations. I'm hoping to get back out there myself soon as i feel the old familiar tug of places calling me.
