9 years, 8 months and 9 days after my first ever visit and 404 days after my last visit before this, I decide it was time to return.

Big World (Small Sauna):

Hiding from the World:

Once There Were Garden:

Old House, Old Tree:

My Cold Inside:

Holes to Our Hearts:

Coffee Kills:

Salt Water (Tears):

Ghostly Moments in Coldness Near Midday:

Reflecting Destruction:

Broken Heart:

Second Room Silence:

That Little Sauna:

This Heart Breaking Coldness:

Black and Red:

Getting Older:

------

And this weekend’s off-topic-bonus-shot comes from the rapids:

Yeah, it’s again that miracle of morning light; you wouldn’t believe how brown that water really is coming through clay lands… it’s literally brown but in morning light it can be something completely different.

Stunning set man. Love the exterior shot of the sauna. Great share - thank you!

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.

Another cool set of photos from our Finland Friend Really like Once there was Garden and Ghostly Moments. Looks like someone just took that gown and robe off just a few hours ago instead of years ago. Actually, it makes me wonder how long it HAS been. As far as cool colors go, i love Black and Red. The Blue rapids are very pretty. Hard to imagine they are really brown.

Yeah, Finland.

Thank you very much. And next, probably even more snowy set is already waiting for next weekend... ;)

Wow, thank you sooo much! Must say that because both buildings are so small and I've been photographing them so long, I didn't expect too much... but once again: magic did take me over immediately. So there is lesson here: keep returning.

Thank you so much. And yeah, even when I'm writing this inside where is really warm and still my hands are freezing. So outside it's like "in 3 minute I don't feel anything with my fingers but hands are aching like hell". Good thing is that in these places while photographing, it' quite easy to let it be...

I love it so much too, smallest and most beautiful sauna that I've ever seen. Thank you so very much.

And now we are getting into the real thing (says guy who will turn to whiskey after this third pint): CHEERS!!!

I suppose that next weekend's set which I did shoot at this morning, will be even cooler! ;) At least we have more snow now... And what comes to those rapids, I must take comparing photo some day so you will see... it goes even over my head too.

Thank you very much, and cheers!

One secret to landing keepers is look over the shots from a good site, return and milk it for all it's worth...
some sites are good for many productive shoots.

You have shot some of most unique places on here, Wolfheart.
You have excellent technique and shooting skills; lots to learn from you
Yah Finland!

One trick I use to stay warm are one time hand warmers; just two inside your overcoat or coveralls at chest level make a big difference.
Some are small enough to slam into shoes & gloves.
Wrap with cloth to cut back airflow if they run to warm... last for many hours.

Yeah, and they are worth as long as they exist... and some locations even after that. So people, here is lesson from old dude: keep returning, returning, returning, returning. If you think every photo have find already, they never ain't.

Thank you so much. I also... well, if I think back, to those times when I did see my first UE-photos (Shaun O'Boyle's stuff) and they did hit me like hammer... and I did tought that well, nice but we don't have anything here in Finland. How wrong was I! Most of locations may be bit different but still... they give so much, at least for me and hopefully I can transfer even little of that through my photos.

Yeah, I've been thinking those warmers... for many, many years. Most ridiculous thing with this is that there is gun/wilderness trekking-shop 150 meters from my home, and they obviously do sell those too... and still I haven't ever get there. I really must me as much stupid as masochist.

I know this post is a few months old, but I love your style! The narrative fits the photography and oozes with nostalgia; melancholy. Very different. Nice job! I love the snowscapes too. I live in Texas where snow is very rare (we had no snow at all this year), so it's always a treat to live vicariously through you guys that live closer to the poles.

We got a whopping two inches or so last year. Usually if we do get it, it just melts when it hits the ground because the ground temperature is warmer than freezing.., and I'm in North Texas.
I saw it snow along the Mexican southern border two years ago, but that's very rare!

I happened to be in Corpus Christi, a small coastal city in south Texas, when it snowed in 2017. You can sort of tell from the photo that everything under the snow (yes, that's a cactus!) was still green because they hadn't even dipped below freezing yet that year and this was in December.

It's nice having mild winters here, but summers are a real bitch. You guys have people dying of hypothermia, we have people dying from heat stroke!

Bloody hell, that is pretty unreal view for me! Never tought it can get such cold there too sometimes. And yeah, it's rare to get over +30 Celsius at summer here, mostly it is something between +15 to +25 I suppose, at summer. Thanks for sharing that photo!
