My experience at the Bellemont Mill

This is my first time posting on the forums and I'm not really sure what I'm doing.

Last summer, (July 2018) a friend and I decided to go check out the Bellemont textile mill, it seems to be a pretty well known spot and it's on the public database on this site. It was built around 1880, fast-forward almost 140 years later, the place is falling to pieces and is an absolute mess. Just about everywhere you look, there are heaps of debris and it's hard to find places to walk. The place is dangerous enough on its own and I definitely didn't do myself any favors by trying to climb stuff. Where my experience really got sketchy was when my friend and I were in one room with a big window that faced down towards the river. My friend was sitting in the window facing into the building while I took some pictures and I guess he heard something and realized that down by the river, there was a guy who looked like a major redneck and his kid.. and keep in mind that there's no easy way to just access the spot that we saw them in. We think that the guy probably saw my friend sitting in the window.. we came to the conclusion that things were probably fine and kept exploring, but maybe 20 or 30 minutes later, we hear a guy riding around on a four wheeler super close to us and then we could kinda see him through some trees pulling up to this place around the back of the property on his four wheeler, even though the whole thing was fenced and wooded off. Obviously, we started to make a break for it and ran the opposite way into the mill and as we started doing that, we stopped hearing the engine and so presumably, the guy got off and started making his way in. My friend and I were lucky enough to find a new point of exit and we made our way out and escaped, but that guy was definitely in the mill looking for us and he did not look like a person to mess with. I'm not saying don't go there, but I never plan on going back and I wouldn't recommend anyone else trying it based off my experience.

(update) I've been trying to figure out how to display my pictures for the last 30 minutes and I can't figure it out, so I'm sorry about that, the best I can do is this link https://imgur.com/gallery/l4qHkEM

Pretty shots! The light was great for you that day.

If you want to directly show your shots a great way to to do that is use the image tag.

When you post, look for the little scenic landscape icon. Click that to get an image tag. Copy-paste the url of your image in between those tags and wha-la!

Or you could just type the tag [*img] [/*img] (without the asterisk)
