Here are a couple of photos from a spot I found on my past trip to Hawaii.
After arriving at my hotel, I hoped on google maps to see if I could find anything interesting near me that would be worth checking out. I was very pleased when I found this place.
Behind a small residential development, there is a natural river. I parked in the suburbs and walked out an old concrete bridge that ran over the river. The other side of the bridge was open space and had a few old dirt roads meandering into the trees. Just downstream from the bridge, there was a concrete structure to control water flow into a canal. The canal then meandered off into the trees as well. It was a peaceful place and quite pretty. Just downstream from the canal, the river flowed over a waterfall and you could walk pretty much right up to the edge. I sadly don't have any photos of that though.

I didn't really know where to put this thread so I thought I would just put it in the Pacific Southwest since that is where I am from.
