Hey ya'll! This is my first post on here, so please excuse the bad quality photos, I promise I'm working on it! Anyways, this is an old barn that's been around since I was a kid, it came with a matching meth house but that mess burned down. This is in lower Alabama if you're interested.

Thanks for sharing. I get the same cathedral feeling in barns as you. Old world craftsmanship is something we rarely see in new construction, and definitely don't see in a modern steel barn.

This beauty was built around 1860. All the wood was felled and milled on the property, and raised by hand. My first look inside gave me chills.....


Not the best pic. Must have been a finger print on my cell phone lens, but you get the idea. I have since gotten in the habit of checking and cleaning the lens before shots, especially those with lens flare....

Long before I started taking pics of explores, I have always wanted to collect B&W's of old churches and barns - Wisconsin is FULL of both. I am finally looking into buying my first real camera. Those B&W's may actually happen now.

When they aren't full of wasp nests, barns are super relaxing. Definitely takes you back to a time when things were built by hand and meant to last a while. Be careful on flooring like that, falling through floors sucks.

Wow, that barn looks beautiful, its like I can reach out and feel what'd it'd be like to stand there just from the picture. Its even cooler you know the history about it too! I wish I was better at historical research lol. Thanks for replying to this thread : )
