Abandoned "Archaeologist's" House

This building was built in 1910 according to the internet, however, I stumbled across a receipt/deed from 1906. Regardless, this building is over 100 years old, and has held up nicely over time. Originally, it was built as some sort of power plant or warehouse (details are hazy) before it was transformed into a house. It was abandoned somewhere around 2002.

Why do I refer to it as the "archaeologist's" house? There were rocks everywhere, and even more peculiar, old hammerheads. Hundreds of them, most covered in rust, and looking freshly dug up. Unfortunately, I was out of daylight and time, and was unable to snap any pictures of them. I will return soon for more photos.

1.

2. Personal favorite

3.

4. Part of a strange "warehouse"-looking part of the house. An overhead gantry.

5. Please, someone let me know if this is a breach of privacy for the ex-owner and I will remove.

6. All of the food was long expired, even the canned goods.

7. Must've left in a hurry

8. Came around a corner and saw this guy, he scared the crap out of me to be honest

9. The upstairs

10. More clothes in the attic

Again, my apologies for not being able to capture the bizarre array of hammerheads and other things. Hopefully I'll be headed back up next weekend, and I'll update this thread accordingly.

That green bottle is a bottle of Glenfiddich Special Reserve. I got that exact bottle as a gift for my 21st. It's a $300 bottle of scotch. Good stuff.

I am really intrigued by this place. You MUST go back! I wish i could go with you. Your personal fave is also my favorite too! That view! I could never get tired of that! This could be such a lovely get-away. Wonder if its still owned by anyone?

Should be going back this weekend! As far as I know, it went up for public auction back in May, but either went unsold, or the person that bought it hasn't bothered to even touch it once.

Truly amazing. I've always found houses boring unless they have a lot left behind, like this. Looks like you struck gold here...rock joke? Can't wait to see those other shots!

I'm here for a good time not a long time.

I could comfortably live my life happily in a place like this!
Nice set

That statue with scarf would of startled me too

Look forward to more shots.

I always find houses that still have the former tenant's stuff in them creepier than empty ones. Great shots though. I love the window that overlooks the brook.
