Perth's southern suburbs used to be full of orchards, but as suburbia spreads outward, they get bought up and bulldozed for new estates.

Here are some pics of an old homestead on a once sprawling orchard that I visited yesterday. I hear it was a real time capsule before it was ransacked by local teens.

Shout out to William, the seemingly tireless explorer who clued me in on this one.

Same thing has happened where I use to live to both farms and orchards.
You can't eat or even enjoy a McMansion on a quarter acre of land

Quarter acre blocks used to be the norm here. The problem with that is our metro area is a huge low density sprawl. While I'm sad to see the old orchards and market gardens go, this orchard is a short walk from a train station and it's a really good idea to fill it with housing.

Levittown was a great idea. There's a British version as well but the name escapes me.
Post WW2 affordable housing. Well built, cheap, cookie cutter housing for the working man.
This crap they're building today is design to make the builder rich, nothing more.
Fuck people like Toll Brothers... parasite shitbirds.
