This was a power house for a pulp mill built in 1908. Not tons of history to find, but it appears to have been abandoned in the 50's. When it was operating at full steam, the river below the entire length of the building would spin up to 14 turbines. It was also used to power several neighboring buildings, all which are long gone. RR tracks and a trestle that ran parallel the length of the building, have also sadly been removed and replaced with a gravel dike which now gives access to the keeper of the lock's house, who operates the neighboring river lock.
