With this city's proximity to four lakes, it's a rare to find a drain large enough to explore, at least in my experience. Nevertheless, I succeeded in finding one. I was only able to go a couple hundred yards back before being forced to leave by a dying flashlight bulb, but here's what I was able to get.

Not too much today, since I didn't bring a tripod and "night mode" on my camera doesn't really work without a stable surface to set it on. Anyway, I'll probably get something with wheels to explore this further one of these days.

Yep, I've visited a couple decent size drains when I lived in madison, but you are correct in that they are pretty rare. I had my eye on one that is perhaps the largest in the city (still relatively small), but I never go around to doing it before I moved away.

Thanks! I replaced the batteries on my light just before going in since I noticed the light dimming on my last exploration, but it started to dim again soon after I replaced them, so it must be the bulb- I've had this light for five years and never changed the bulb. Fortunately, my phone has a flashlight function, though it only provides about ten feet of visibility- but it was enough to get out.
