~ At Midsummer to Last Christmas ~

We shall jump over few locations to this one - mostly because today it's midsummer's eve, this place was such amazing and I most probably were first one there for long, long time and also because this is my last weekend of freedom: back to work at monday (which really makes me sad).

But life is full of surprises. First of all I did finally transfer to this century with my first ever smart phone – I couldn’t resist when my friend did ask if I would like to get Cat S30 for 25 euros. Week later I did open map site and almost immediately find one “it really could be” location from area not so far that I’ve thought to find everything already. So next morning it was time for that. It also was first time when that phone really did come useful. I did have to walk there 1 kilometer there and same back of course through forest that did almost feel like jungle; without real time map I would probably have been lost. Now… no problems at all.

And I did get my reward: there were amazingly beautiful old house. Did feel pretty damned nice to get closer, see those old stone walls there were once were fields and which have since turn into forest and even chopped down at least once. Weather have been very dry lately, but when arriving there sky did cry few raindrops. Peace was perfect there.

Bending Before (bit scary – I did have to get through this room to get another one):

And Years… They Did Pass By:

Waiting Sauna to Warm Once Again:

And today’s off-topic-bonus-picture comes from yesterday morning and shall probably be called as "morning thoughts".

That's it - cheers!

Good choice with the black and white coloring at the beginning! It really emphasized the shadows and darkness giving out the perfect eerie horror movie tone.

I'm here for a good time not a long time.

Very cool Wolf. Love the black and white, very creepy and evocative.

With your style of shooting I'd bet you could make Rainbows, Unicorns, and Butterfly's creepy too..LOL.

The horse has hair like Donald Trump....

Excellent set!! Really love the mood of these shots. Excellent work as always!

I get the feeling from your photos and posts that these houses are usually in the middle of the woods somewhere, with nothing else around. These places you find always seem very secluded. Is that generally the case?

Thank you sooo much! Hmm, have to think little. That woods thing is somewhat true, at least because we have lot of woods everywhere. You could probably say that wood is almost always at least near - and this place really were at countryside, in the woods. And lot of others too. That is one thing that I really love in Finland. Oblivion is always quite near (maybe except biggest cities).

I really liked the desaturated look that you gave to some of these shots. I almost always desaturate some of the colors in my shots; I guess it's generally just a good look for urbex photos. Great set, my favorite was the one titled "Eternal Dream".

Yeah, some views that need it. Less colors is more feel of oblivion, maybe? Thank you very much.
