My Mom and Dad arrived
1975.
Houses were all so cheap,
man alive.
My Dad was digging holes
my Momma drove the bus
they bought a little house,
they made love.
They don't make anything in that town now.
I had a old Ford truck
swung by to pick you up
drove down your daddy's lane
and we drove back up.
We went to see some play
when I took you back home again
we parked in your daddy's bean field and we made out.
They don't make anything in that town now.
My friend Ryan drove
full speed off the road.
For him that was it,
but his truck got fixed.
At the gathering I got asked to sing.
I sang, "For every mile of road,
you got to make two miles of ditch."
They don't make anything in that town now.
All them chained up doors
windows made of wood
Bad as it is now, it was never that good.
I was going to drive a truck.
I was going to answer phones.
I started making up songs and made it out.
They don't make anything in that town now.

Several of the mills have closed, the Airforce Base has been decommissioned, and many businesses have packed-up and left. I would visit here a lot more if it wasn't so long to drive. 2 days of exploring, and spending the night in my car.. I plan on returning again soon to capture more.

The mill had it's own firetruck. Not much use anymore after the closure.
I posted the abandoned mill pics in another album.

I spent the night sleeping in my car, parked in front of an abandoned Zellers/Canadian Tire building, but not before doing some night pics. Mostly steel and concrete, I felt it was safe to play around with some fire.
