Five years of living in New Brunswick... and often I find myself asking, "What the heck is wrong with this province?" Youth leave in droves, small businesses fail, regularly on the CBC news you hear of corruption within the government across nearly all facets.

The mill closed in 2014. ...due to a lack of trees. In a province covered by over 90% forest, lack of access to trees is what failed this mill. The forests are owned by the crown, and only certain companies are granted access. For those that love a good conspiracy, come on down and learn more about what's wrong with this province.

The location was left pretty much as it was 3 years ago. Tools still on the benches, coveralls hanging on the wall and hardhats strewn about. There was even some nasty food surprises in the staff break room.

I felt a moment of deep sadness and loss as I looked at the faded photos in the machine shop office. The pride this company had was easy to see, and hard to look at.

For now, here's the photos:

Interesting bit of background to this one. It's sad that this business failed as a result of those circumstances, but on the bright side, it looks like a pretty nice explore. I really like how fresh and intact everything still looks.

Another vote for #10, I'd love to have that old Newman grinder.
