	I went up the western corridor to visit an already familiar site, an abandoned US army base located between Seoul and North Korea. This time I was with friends, most of whom didn't make it that far. 1. Out front is a big flat field that used to be the motor pool. 2. My friend got distracted trying to open this safe. 3. Right around here, I had previously taken cover while witnessing (by sound only) a Korean dumptruck pouring out chemicals somewhere between where I'm standing and she's standing. 4. We went inside a building that used to be a gym. 5. Inside, we found plywood boards blocking our way, and had to squeeze around past them. 6. But then once we were through, we found ourselves in a fake corporate office. 7. Yes, we came armed. 8. Then we opened a drawer and found movie-prop-quality clothes. 9. Investigating a crime scene. 10. Now it's time to open fire. 11. We found pictures of the office setting they were likely trying to recreate. 12. Time to start heading back downhill.

The Americans handed it back to Korea in 2006 and the gates are wide open, allowing anyone to drive through. The only K-9s we'd encounter are Kia K9 sedans.

Any idea why, there was a fake office there? Training? Filming?

It's being rented out as a film set, so in the big gymnasium they build these little boxes where they can have smaller contained office sets. I've found ads online in Korean advertising it for film and TV productions. Probably next time I visit they'll tear this down and have something else.
