Time Capsule - Everything Left Behind

This Is Why I Do This....

About one year ago my exploring partner and I approached this house, we were uneasy right off the bat after seeing some trees that had been freshly cut and trimmed along the long driveway.

We approach what looks like an abandoned house, looking in the windows we are certain of it, it looks like it may be a time capsule inside.

But it's all locked up, so we walk away and don't return.

Fast Forward a year later and I have this house on my mind, wondering if the gods of abandonment have made this house accessible. I take a drive and bring my gear...hoping for better luck.

I park my car well off site and wait for the perfect time to make my dash up the driveway. I get to the house and everything seems exactly the same, except one thing....now there is a way inside.

Approaching a home that you have no info on and no way of knowing if other explorers have been inside is a unique experience. Your senses are on fire, because what if it's NOT abandoned, what if someone checks on it regularly?

I make my way inside and the first sense is smell - this house smells abandoned, then sound - I call out, I listen....silence.

Next - Sight - WOW, this is a true time capsule house. Everything in its place EVERYTHING. I have never seen pictures from inside so I have no idea what I am about to see...so I walk in and step gently, walking room to room with my jaw on the floor.

- Couch in place with a cane resting against it

- Food in the cupboards

- Beds still made

- Clothes hanging in the closets

Thanks for Looking!

What an awesome find, congrats.

This resonated with me and I know the feeling all too well. The buzz is unreal.

I'm not big on houses, but damn that is a time capsule and... a life completely done and forgotten.
Excellent find

Outstanding work, seeing finds like this is really what makes this hobby great. Did you get any indication of what happened to the former owners to make them leave it to rot like this?

Utterly spectacular house.

The bobbin turned beds and crib are amazing in themselves.

This is great stuff but it also made me feel a little sad. What seems permanent is fleeting, given enough time.

These locations are awesome and sad. I wish there were more stories as to the circumstances that led literally entire lives left behind. I am pretty confident they aren't happy tales, but I really want to hear them, none the less....

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.

Incredible set. These are the sort of places you stumble upon once every 1000 locations. The old family pictures always get me. It's so beautifully haunting to stare into the face of the people who used to live there.

I "hop"pened to really like this video

It's hauntingly sad to me...makes the imagination wander and visualize vibrant and happy games with the grand kids.

Well done !! Very enjoyable
