My mom sits on the board of directors for a local hospice caregiver, who were willed this farm to be transformed into a dedicated end-of-life home. While not technically abandoned, it has been unoccupied since the death of the owner, and is currently only used for special events to raise funds for its eventual renovation. The house itself dates form the late 1700's and the barns can't be that much newer. Each building is still filled with great relics of its previous life as a working farm, and it sits on an absolutely stunning piece of land.
My mom brought us over while we were visiting Maine over the weekend, but she couldn't find the key, which required me to put my urbex skill set to use to find us a way in. I wasn't initially going to share this set here, as it's not abandoned and I photographed it with permission, but I think that the nature of the place and the items left behind will really appeal to you folks.
