Hello folks:

It has been a few years since I have been on an explore. The last two years I have been in a major funk and wanted to find some hobbies. On my nights off from work I get major cabin fever. Well I found this new condo development near my house. In addition, there is a second phase being built and a crane on site. I scoped it out a few times and then told myself...fuck it lets do this! It was awesome to say the least and I haven't felt more alive in a long time.

During the first trip, I was taking more video footage than pictures and was able to get to the roof. There are two stairwells in the middle of the building on the east side that intersect each other. There are no ladders in the elevator shaft to reach the upper floors.

Unfortunately when I returned two weeks later to get more pictures, the route I took to the upper floors was locked off. I was able to get into the parkade area again and get better pictures of that. I will keep visiting it on occasion to check for anymore opportunities. I would like to visit this place during the day to get better pictures. Unfortunately, there are a lot of active homes overlooking this place. Night is really the safest option. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!

I like the idea of exploring new construction. Having recently gotten out of a construction trade I somewhat miss the big sites. My new position grants me access to places most people don't see building-wise though.

Yeah new construction is nice. You get to experience a fresh building before it is buttoned up and you can't get in anymore (or harder to get in at least).

I don't know what occupation you're in, but I can see the appeal of trades/engineering from an exploring standpoint. What made you leave the construction trade if you don't mind me asking?

Great shots and story! I always wanted to visit a construction site. There is huge 3-tower project is being build right across the street from where I live, and I'm watching over it for the past 6 months. Even though I have a view of the whole site and already went around it few times I just can't find a decent POE.

Thanks! When I was doing it, my senses were in overdrive because I was so paranoid about being caught.

That project across from you sounds pretty cool. It's frustrating that there is no way into it lol Is the perimeter actually buttoned up tight, or is the risk of being spotted too high?

It is an engineering-type position. As far as leaving goes, I just couldn't shake the feeling of not doing what I wanted to do every day. I am young, but I want to spend my time doing something that is going to get me to where I want to be.

Also, I get to see many very old mechanical rooms doing what I do now which is a bonus. I love old boilers and steam plants.

Well, it my case it's the territory that locked up pretty well. I wouldn't go to a construction site during the day anyways. Construction site beside my place has some sort of an office made out of s-can container and it is located on the opposite side from where tower is being build, so I don't think one can even spot you there at night, it's just a simply can't get inside. Maybe things will change one day.

That sounds like an awesome gig that you have now. My hats off to you for going after what you really wanted in life.
