Finally got to see this spot, with the bonus of having Sanitarium Sean along for the ride, still over in the UK studying at uni.

After getting in myself I let the others in, with all going swimmingly well until our friend decided to set the panic alarm off on the front desk - thankfully I was stood right by the reset panel so after about twenty seconds of wondering what the bloody hell was going on managed to turn it off. It's a beautiful art deco-era building, it's just a shame it's been so horribly cut up inside as you can see where once large rooms have been split into two or three smaller rooms with substantial granite columns partially boxed in with stud walls.

The large police station was built in 1937 replacing a much older and smaller one built in 1844 which then became the town library. In December 2015 the full or partial closure of 15 police stations in this county was announced in order to save £63million and this was one of nine that were to close completely. It closed to the public in April 2016 and was fully vacated by the police in December 2017. The land is now up for sale as a residential development site.

I do normally like my explores with a bit more in the way of decay but I'd not done a police station before so it's another thing ticked off the list.

Great set man! All the carvings in #4 is awesome and that kitchen is so weird.

Very nice bud! Looks like a neat place. I hope to one day check abandoned police station off my list. So far I have only ended up in active ones, which is considerably less fun.

Such a cool location. I don't know why but prisons and places like them give me shivers! I love the the picture with all the carvings in it.
