Hey all, Since I have for decades tried to find some of these tunnels I hear about and still havent found one I am curious, has anyone else?

I am talking the ones the Mob used, etc. Pueblo has them under downtown, the state hospital, and more im sure but no clue where they are accessible from. I imagine the right manhole cover would do it..

Also hear of several in springs and of course denver. I would do nearly anything to see any of them.

I have heard of the tunnels in downtown Pueblo, but not in Colorado Springs.

I also know of tunnels under Main St. in Trinidad. I had a hunting buddy that grew up in Trinidad and I remember him showing me a door that went into a concrete wall where a building had been demolished. That door allowed access into the tunnels.

This is 30 years ago. Memories are sketchy at best.

Also in Trinidad...

There was a fading ad for a hotel painted on a building. It was hard to see, but it did say: "whores provided with every room."

The cannons in Kit Carson are filled with concrete. They weren't always filled with concrete. 'nuf said.

im fairly sure I found the official entrance to the downtown pueblo tunnels, but its super obvious and attached to a bank so I don't see that working out.

otherwise no luck

The Denver tunnels still exist, sort-of. Partitioned and CCTV'd/alarmed for the most part.

Fort Collins also supposedly had one. From the old Jail to a hotel where they cooked meals for the inmates.

Earlier I mentioned none in Colorado Springs. I meant under downtown, well there are some elsewhere in town including some that are unconfirmed and in addition to some actively used tunnels in downtown.

There are tunnels at the Broadmoor that connect the buildings.

The only tunnels I know of in downtown Colorado Springs are secure and still actively used. They connect the jail, the "new" courthouse and the "old" courthouse. The "old" courthouse is now the Pioneer Museum.

Until the late-1980s when they built a new facility at Peterson AFB, NORAD also used 2 locations in Colorado Springs in addition to Cheyenne Mountain and Peterson AFB. They were the Federal Building and the Chidlaw Building.

The US Olympic Training Center (USOTC) used to be Ent Air Force Base and NORAD was based there. The computers were in the Federal Building which is adjacent to the USOTC and the command post was in a fortified building on E. Bijou called the Chidlaw Building.

There are utility tunnels in the USOTC and they did at one time, connect to the Federal Building. Whether or not they still connect to the Federal Building is unknown.

There was a direct connection to the Chidlaw Building from the Federal Building which are about 3/4 of a mile apart as the crow flies. Whether there is (or was) an actual tunnel or just utility duct is unknown.
