Hopefully landing a photography job soon and am looking to get back into urbex for it. I have a few spots and wouldn’t mind linking up with people and swapping locations/exploring together. Usually have a group of 3-5 and are heavily into photography. Feel free to pm if you’re interested in linking up or just swapping spots!

Hey UrbexShep, welcome back. I don't know how long you were away for or how into it you were when you started, but I'd recommend creating some posts with pictures and stories.

This is a really warm and wonderful community. As you start to branch out and share more photos, you'll start to network with some different people on the site which is always a great time, it leads to shared locations, stories, and new friends.

Personally I'm not in Ohio enough to say, but I know of a couple people who are from around that region. Establish yourself as a known personality around here and you'll find each other in no time

Happy exploring!

Been away since about October/November so not too long. I have loads of pictures of love to share but my issue is they are too big when I try to attach as an image. Is there any work around for that?

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Use flickr and embed them through that.

That or, since I'm lazy, I prefer to use the Quick Gallery Creator that appears below the text box when you go to write a new post. It has an option to "resize oversized images" (or something similar) automatically while also embedding the image in text. Takes a lot of the hassle out of resizing yourself if you want to post them directly to the site.

Either one works, embedding through flickr is probably the best option for you since it results in the best picture quality.

Edit: Clarity

Another fellow southern Ohio user here if you're ever down this way! One of these days I'll have to take a weekend or something and make my up north too.

I don't know what kind of photography job you may be landing, but if it involves using or publicizing exploring locations for financial gain, you might have trouble trying to find people who want to trade spots with you. People generally don't like to see their spots being used like that.

Well the job fell through so now I'm back to urbex for the fun of it!

Appreciate the help! Most of the time I'm on here I am using my phone so the Gallery Creator and resizing image option never came up. Not exactly sure why I didn't think to use my computer

Definitely will hit you up. Seems like the urbex scene in SE Ohio is a bit more prominent than NE Ohio, but if you're ever up here let me know and we can hit some spots!
