Valley University Campus

This former university campus was built in the late 1950s in a prominent position in a city fairly near to me. The university had five campuses scattered around towns and cities in the area and this one had a body primarily composed of nursing students. When the university announced the closure of this campus in 2009 almost all of them were relocated to one of the university's other campuses. After closure, one of the buildings was taken over by a school and is still open to this day, however the majority of the buildings are left abandoned.

The site is made up of a pair of seven-storey towers, with one attached to the canteen/kitchen areas as well as a circular rotunda building and the active school, and the second tower is kind of a standalone structure joined to another part of the active building. There is also a large two storey office/admin building separate from the others. Inside, the towers are gloriously dated with parquet flooring and wood panelling all over the place as well as marble panel lift surrounds and retro signage and also a very large population of pigeons. One tower is very definitely better than the other though, with some of the best natural decay I have ever seen anywhere. Warped parquet floors and moss covered desks all over the place.

If I'm honest I am astounded that somewhere like this has survived so long relatively undamaged considering it's in a city that isn't a particularly pleasant one. It just goes to show that there are still fresh things out there to discover in the most surprisingly obvious places - quite how this one managed to escape everyone's attention is a mystery given that it's in a region quite heavily populated with explorers.

The views from the tower roofs are pretty impressive but it's very exposed, and with it snowing and bitterly cold we didn't really venture outside that much.

11, 14, 22. Love the old doors and moss covered desks. Nice to find something thats not all full of graf and relatively unexplored. Good work! and...thats one of the biggest, highest, tread- mills I've seen. If the place floods you could use it as a pontoon boat lol.

Really nice explore, really nice pictures as well. Also listing down a short history of the campus was nice so others will not only see great photos but also see some info of the place. This place really reminds me of a part in the game "The Last of Us". Overall well done and good luck on your future explores!

Oh my god, the purple doors...

Probably not the most attractive design choice while it was active, but it looks damn good next to all the moss.

Awesome set!
