while the Kraft process is pretty straightforward, each manufacturer/mill has their own recipe how to cook pulp. Our digester was one of the few that could switch between hardwood and softwood. Each process was a little different than the other... on top of that, it depends how their reactors are set up. The rep from the company that built our reactor said that each reactor, digester and kiln are different... they have a personality, so with that personality, chemicals and usage differs.

Ah well, I knew it was a long shot anyway. "Hey could you identify this chemical with no information beyond a blurry picture" is an unlikely question to get a definite answer to, especially when the chemical in question is a white crystal. You can't get much more generic than white crystal.

you'd be surprised how many chemicals are generic white crystals.

I have a multi bit screwdriver which comes in handy often. Aside from what everyone has said, I've been trying out these 3M comfort grip cut resistant gloves and they're nice. The grip is great, and they're lasting well so far.

Fennosil is a name brand for a specific polyacrylamide. Polyacrylamide is used a flocculating agent. Flocculation is where you remove an insoluble colloid that is suspended in a solution through some sort of chemical reaction. I've never used polyacrylamide, however I've used similar chemicals before and the effect is that they cause insoluble but suspended constituents of a solution to fall out of the solution very quickly. I'm not very familiar with the Kraft process or paper milling, however I imagine that Fennosil is added at some point where a solution has undesirable suspended components.

I couldn't find the MSDS for Fennosil, but the MSDS for polyacrylamide shows that it is pretty boring as far as chemicals go with no reactivity, no flammability, little health concern, and no other specific concern. Will I wouldn't bathe in it, it appears to provide little danger.

They're the two things I assume I'd want if my biggest explore paranoia happens (getting locked in). But even I don't think I'd be able to successfully engineer that reframe if caught with them

I wouldn't want them with me but I can definitely see how they could be useful. At the same time though, if you get locked in wouldn't you normally be looking at locked doors? Might but tough to unlock a door with pliers and a flathead screwdriver but you may be more crafty than I. I'd say unless you're going underground it should be simple enough to keep your cell phone on you to call a friend to let you out.
